Oct 07   Achieve's Dash for Dignity 5k, Fun Run, Health Fair, Carnival

The 24th annual Dash for Dignity is a 5K race and half mile Fun Run, Carnival and Health Fair benefitting Achieve and our mission to empower adults with disabilities and our veterans to reach their highest level of independence and employment.

The Dash also provides a vital local platform for our community to promote the importance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) in October 2017. The mission of NDEAM is to raise awareness about disability employment issues and to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America?s workers with disabilities.

Dash Emcee since 1993, Mike Doocy (Sports Anchor at KDFW FOX4) and his wife, Ruth, have been the driving force behind the Dash for Dignity?s success for over 20 years.

We anticipate more than 1,000 attendees, and the event will reach hundreds of thousands more thanks to our generous media partners and marketing efforts. Also exciting this year is a wonderful Health Fair and Carnival that you don?t want to miss, thanks to the valuable resources offered by Dallas Medical Center and other health & wellness specialists, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations from the community ? all in support of Achieve!

We are still looking for Sponsors, Team Captains, and Volunteers. Your support allows you to make a difference in the lives of area adults with disabilities and their families. Likewise, it aligns you with the NDEAM Campaign in October, to Achieve, and to the community, bringing great visibility to your business or organization. Don?t let this chance to make a difference pass you by!

Through corporate sponsorships and donors, the volunteer-driven initiative has now sponsored more than 1,100 children through World Vision’s humanitarian efforts; generated more than $4 million in cash and gifts in kind; and distributed more than 10,000 book bags filled with school supplies to students attending Title One schools.
